Teaching & Service

As a first generation college student, taking college classes opened up a new world to me as I learned about research, career opportunities, and psychological phenomena. My passion for connecting with students and creating safe spaces for them to learn has been bolstered through class creation, guest lecturing, and being a teaching assistant. Further, through my teaching and service work I aim to actively illustrate my firm commitment to diversity and inclusion.

I was honored to receive the Taylor M. Brown Award in recognition of my diversity efforts in teaching, service, and research.

Introduction to Psychology - UCLA Psychology Department

I am firmly committed to positively contributing to academia through recognizing and addressing injustice, promoting inclusion, and striving for equity. For example, as a graduate student I created and chaired the UCLA Underrepresented Graduate Students in Psychology’s Transfer Outreach Committee. In doing so, I worked to illuminate the pathway to becoming a Ph.D. student for a diverse group of undergraduates and address the unique challenges of the UC transfer community.
